A great compact DMX512 controlled MP3 player that allows you to control the playback of up to 255 MP3 format tracks using either SD or USB pen-drive media (formatted to FAT32). Please note you can either use SD OR USB not both at the same time!

The DMX Player requires 3 DMX channels which can be set between channels 1 and 510 using the dip switches.

Channel 1 is the command channel (stop / play / pause / resume / loop etc...)

Channel 2 selects the track (max 16  tracks in slider friendly mode or 255 tracks in command mode)

Channel 3 is the Volume (0 muted - 255 full volume)

Connections DMX:          3-way terminal block

Power:  2-way terminal block / 9-12V DC at 0.5Amps

Line Outputs:   3.5mm stereo socket

Speaker Outputs: 2-way terminal block / 4 - 8 ohm 


PCB Dimensions: 82x60x18mm (excluding media card/drives)


Status LEDS Red LED:  Power

Amber LED:  Track playing

Green LED: 

Solid: DMX present,

flashing: no DMX signal  


Base Address Selection

Add the value of the address DIP switches(1-9) set to the ON position to calculate the base address. Base address = channel 1, base address + 1 = Channel 2 etc.           The base address is read continuously. 


Mode Select

Set DIP switch #10 to ON for Direct mode and to OFF for Slider (friendly) mode 


File Storage: The DMX player is capable of playing up to 255 MP3 tracks in direct mode and up to 16 MP3 tracks in Slider mode. 

For the files to be read, they MUST be located in a folder labelled  01 on the media  


The labels of the files MUST also be prefixed with a number in the format 001 to 255  this prefix is used by the Somo-II to select a particular file- eg 
001Kalima.mp3  - track 1 002Bignoise.mp3  - track 2 103anytext.mp3  - track 103 


If you get an unexpected order of play, check you have complied with the above requirements.
