The 9 Channel DMX DC Solenoid driver PCB allows up to 9 DC Solenoids to be controlled directly from a DMX512 network.
The board provides 9 MosFet Open Collector digital outputs and the DMX address can be set between 1 and 504.
PCB size: W137mm x D125mm x H35mm with 4mm mounting holes at 127 x 80 mm
Solenoid switching levels:
The DMX value on the base address channel controls switching on output 1, a DMX value < 224/87% will switch the output OFF, a value above 223/86% will switch the output ON.
The value on the base address controls output 1, Base address + 1 controls output 2 etc.
The switching signal is suspended (All Solenoids OFF) when a valid DMX signal is not being received.
Connections:
DMX: Dual 5 Pin XLR and 3-pin aux terminal connection with selectable 120R termination resistor.
G = XLR Pin1 = Cable Screen continuation.
2 = XLR Pin2 = Data - (Minus).
3 = XLR Pin3 = Data + (Plus).
Power: Polarised Screw Terminal connections 0V & V+ (9-24Vdc) + 2 x Aux 0V terminals.
Power requirements are 9-24V DC at 0.5 Amps + Solenoid load current: Maximum 9.5 amps if using connections wired as A (18.5 amps if wired as B).
Outputs:
The 9 output channels are each rated at 2 Amps Maximum @ 9-24 VDC if wired as shown for B (1 Amp if wired as shown for A) and are arranged as open collector outputs. Solenoids should be wired to a “+” terminal and the adjacent “-“ input on the board.
Indicators:
DMX Status LED:
Solid green LED - valid DMX signal being received.
Flashing green LED - NO DMX signal being received.
Power LED:
Solid red LED - power applied.
Ch 1 Monitor LED: Visual indication of the output status of Channel 1.
Base Address Selection:
The Base address can be set between 1 and 504 using the Address DIP switches. Calculate the setting by adding the value of the switches that are set to the ON position. The Base Address is continuously read. With no address switches selected (address = 000), the Base address defaults to 001.
SW 10:
With Switch 10 G/I in the ON position (base address 1- 511) all outputs are controlled by the DMX value on the base address.
